R&D Phase — Seeking Investors

The Storm Frame for Solar Panels

On Track Solar Systems is developing a factory-integrated storm protection system for solar panels, built on the same logic that made hurricane protection standard in Florida after Andrew. Based in Saint Cloud, Florida.

The Cost of Doing Nothing

What One Storm Can Do to a Solar Array

Hail and wind can shatter panel glass, crack cells and shut down production. Owners are left with repair bills, lost power and insurance claims.

Our Solution

The Storm Frame System

A factory-integrated storm protection system for solar panels, developed so a protective cover can go on quickly before severe weather and come off afterward. Design details are shared with qualified partners under NDA.

1

Built In at the Factory

Protection is designed into the panel at manufacturing, with a retrofit path for panels already on roofs.

2

Cover Before the Storm

When severe weather is forecast, a protective cover goes on ahead of it.

3

Protected Panels

Designed to target UL 2218 Class 4 hail impact performance. Third-party testing is planned.

4

Back to Power

After the storm, the cover comes off and the system goes back to generating.

⚡
Core Innovation

Storm Frame

A factory-integrated protection feature, specified for each array to fit how the system is laid out.

🔧
Retrofit

Storm Frame Retrofit Kit

A path for existing panels, designed to install without drilling or permanent modification.

🛡️
Defender Standard

Corrugated Aluminum Cover

Aluminum cover custom-sized to each panel. Target certification: UL 2218 Class 4 and FM 4473 Class 4.

☀️
Defender Pro

Polycarbonate Cover

UV-stabilized clear cover designed for high light transmission, so panels can keep producing power while protected.

❄️
Defender HD

Insulated Composite Cover

Designed for snow load and extreme cold climates. Target: ASCE 7-22 snow certification.

⚙️
Automated Option

Hands-Off Deployment

An automated deployment option for customers who want protection without lifting a finger. Details available to qualified partners under NDA.

Why Now

The Hurricane Andrew Parallel

After Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Florida changed what every new home had to withstand. We believe solar panels are heading in the same direction, and we are building the protection before the requirement arrives.

"Protection became standard for windows once codes required it. We are building the answer for solar before that day comes."

Insurers and building officials are paying closer attention to hail and wind losses on solar. On Track Solar Systems is positioning to be ready when protection moves from optional to expected, starting in Florida, our home base.

Timeline

Where We Are

1992
Hurricane Andrew. $27B in damage. Florida overhauls its building codes and wind-protection requirements.
Today
Storm losses on solar are rising. Insurers and code bodies are looking harder at resilience.
2025–26
R&D and prototyping. Developing the system and preparing intellectual property protection.
Next
Independent testing and manufacturer conversations.
Goal
Protection built into the panel, not bolted on after the damage.
Partnership Opportunity

We Are Talking With Investors and Manufacturers
